研究领域
面向国家野生动物资源保护与利用的战略需求，致力于动物生态学的重大科学问题，揭示物种多样性的维持及演化适应的机制，发展野生动物保护及可持续利用的理论和方法，服务于国家生态安全与环境建设，为履行《生物多样性公约》、《濒危野生动植物种国际贸易公约》等提供理论基础和技术支撑。主要开展的研究有：中国野生动物资源保护的发展战略及对策研究；全球变化背景下野生动物的生态适应与保护研究；动物行为模式的进化生物学机制。
目前的研究工作主要以野生动物特别是我国特有重点保护物种为研究对象，瞄准学科国际前沿，结合我国野生动物保护与可持续利用中重要的科学问题开展深入研究，在动物行为的功能与进化、动物濒危的生态学机制、动物种群遗传学及进化历史、外来种入侵机制和野生动物资源保护与持续利用等领域开展研究。
