生物物理,主要研究各种生物马达蛋白的微观运动机理。
通过应用单分子荧光显微技术、磁镊、AFM等现代光学、物理方法,以及快速反应动力学等传统的生物物理及化学方法,研究生物体内各种马达蛋白(如DNA解旋酶、RNA解旋酶、DNA聚合酶等)的生物学特性、功能及其能量转换机制,为探索疾病治疗的新途径打下基础。

1985年至2001年,主要从事非线性光学等方面的研究工作。2002年开始从事DNA与蛋白质相互作用以及各种生物分子马达工作运动机理的研究。曾参加或主持多项国家自然科学基金面上和重点项目、863及攀登计划项目、科学院知识创新工程方向性项目。先后发表SCI论文100余篇,其中生物物理方面论文60余篇。
